Just in time for the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, Governor Hochul signed legislation that will extend the time to file requisite forms predicating claims for workers compensation benefits and New York State disability retirement benefits arising out of exposure at Ground Zero and other enumerated sites. This legislation Recognizes the impact of the events of September 11, 2001, on hero first responders and emergency personnel that either suffer the Ill effects of their efforts or gave their lives on that day that we shall never forget.
